NEW AND IMPROVED! Or maybe NEW and EVOLVED! Or New and Evolving! Pick one.
I live in a glorious paradise! I’m grateful every day for where I live - on the Lake in front of the Arenal Volcano, considered the heart of Costa Rica. If ya gotta go through the pain of letting go and transformation, at least getting through the muck in this environment softens the journey!
I watched the Ram Das movie, Becoming Nobody. That provided some unexpected joy and connection. One of the cool messages of the movie was for us not to fear death. I do death (check this link) but this is the first time I heard it as an experience that will bring relief, similar to taking off a shoe that was too tight. Almost makes me look forward to my body’s demise!
This idea of wearing a shoe that was too tight also resonated for me in the on-going quest of personal growth and transformation: Many shoes in my closet had become too tight and yet I was hanging on to them because they were beautiful, I was attached to an experience that they represented and/or because of a sadness of letting go of something that had been cherished - but truth, they hurt me and no longer served me.
And beyond the metaphor, my purpose in this life, understood from a very early age, has been to expand human consciousness. While I have found many beautiful ways to help this process along, the path of resolving trauma found me decades ago. I had 20 years of experience before I started my agency in 1995 and served 14,000 people in the 22 years that my agency existed. For me, the point of all of this is to become a better person. Any group experience for me must be about walking one’s talk and being accountable. And from this point forward, anyone that would like to learn Traditional Trauma Resolution (so named by a Cree elder) will need to share those values. If you are just looking for CEUs, you have plenty of other options. If you are really about changing this world, drop me a line!
